How To Start A Coffee Shop

Have you ever dreamt of running your own coffee shop or perhaps adventuring from festival to festival with a quirky little coffee van?! Then this course is for you.

It is important to acknowledge that there is a lot more to running a successful coffee business then first meets the eye. Having gone through the process ourselves, we know just how overwhelming everything may seem at first and how essential a course like this is to prepare you for what is to come. We want you to set up your business for success from the get-go, and our How To Start A Coffee Shop course will provide you with fundamental information on the running of a coffee shop and all it entails, giving you the confidence to take that next leap.

On a very practical level, we will introduce you to basic barista skills and look at a good coffee bar set-up including the espresso machine, grinders, and essential barista tools; we will also discuss drinks menus, the importance of crockery, choices of food offerings, cleaning routines and food hygiene.
On a theoretical level, we will look at creating business plans and getting your priorities right; this includes covering the basic finances of running a coffee shop, and talking you through some important practical steps and timelines: from finding space, signing a lease, registering with environmental health, staffing, to finally opening your coffee shop.

In a nutshell, it’s a day full of private mentoring and teaching that will set you up for the journey ahead.
